Zombie Baby Part 2

This is another practice page of XXXombies. I've been kind of off and on with work lately so I thought I'd fill the spare time by polishing up some skills. This page immediately follows the other XXXombie page as the baby who has been bitten by the nasty nurses awakes to find his first meal! Which our main character is not very thrilled about, to say the least. Someone asked me "How does a baby with no teeth rip into a guys neck" the simple answer of course was with his uber-strong zombie baby gums. duh.

Heavy Feather Falls Pg.1

The first page of HFF has finally come to fruition! The artist changed a few things here and there as you can see from the peliminary page a few blogs down. I liked the color scheme I had already so I reused it for the final. The lighting was tricky in the battle-scene, I was going for a post-dawn kind of look. The story is by R. Chambers LeHeup of Piensa Art Company, art by Adrian J. Johnson, and colors by me.

SWIFF!!!

This is a comic called "Swiff" from Notion Comics, drawn and inked by Dat Boi Drew. I did a tryout with Notion by coloring this page. This is my first contact for a job with people I've never met before. I was pretty excited to find out these guys had approached me because they had seen my work on Deviant Art. It's a pleasure to be working with them on future projects.

Zombie Babies

This is a coloring practice page. Most of my colored worked in bright and happy and I wanted to show I could do darker, edgier stuff. I know all of you must think aww poor baby, but don't let him fool you. He's been bitten so he's a Zombie just like the rest of em'!
The first panel is kind of a homage to Creepshow the movie. Where they would show characters in these moments of horror and the lighting would be crazy and colorful. The rest is just splatterfest, which is harder to do than I thought!
After while crocodile.

This is a preliim for a Comic named "Heavy Feather Falls" Art by ADRIAN J. JOHNSON Colors by yours truly. I met a guy, Chambers Leheup, for maybe a hour outside of a Westin Hotel in Charlotte N.C. We were there for Heroes-Con and my friends had already seen me down to my floor on the elevator and was returning to my room when I felt like a cigarette. So I headed back down outside the lobby and saw my friends Matt Wilson, and Tony Shasteen talking with these guys from Piensa Art Company. I talked with Chambers about future ventures in coloring, and boom.

Hi, I'm Eric Darnes, this is my first blog ever. I started a dream job out of college coloring comics for a "separation/coloring house" called Zylonol Studio. The first piece I ever worked on was a "Gordon of Gotham" cover by Klaus Janson.
This is a piece I colored for MAD. MAD sent Zylonol Studio uncolored pieces from years ago and asked us to add color so they could reprint them in a magazine called MAD Classics. I loved this work and have many more to show in the future. I hope everyone has an excellent 4th of July. I hope to show newer pieces I've been working on soon. For now I am going through all my work and picking out my favorite stuff to post.
